Civilizational issues in theoretical heritage of V.N. Rastorguev

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of V.N. Rastorguev’s works on civilizational issues. It tells about Rastorguev’s scientific biography, the main areas of his scientific studies, and what works he devoted to the problems of civilizations. His theoretical works on the concept of “civilization” are considered. His attitude to various interpretations of the concept of “civilization” is shown. The content of the concepts “civilizational iden­tity”, “civilizational development” and others used by him is revealed. His interpretation of Russia as a “civilization state” is analyzed. His views on the issues of interaction be­tween local civilizations and on the problem of “solidarity of civilizations”, as well as on the problems of the future of civilizations, are considered.
