Abstract

The author of the article considers Eurasianism as a philosophical and historical theory that addresses the cultural mode of Russian history, the "local development" of which was the geographical space between Europe and Asia with the socio-economic patterns, religious beliefs, national traditions, and lifestyle features characteristic of the peoples who inhabited it. According to the author, this angle of analysis is in tune with the current challenges of the time, which actualize for Russia, on the one hand, the problem of its own development as a multinational state, on the other hand, questions about the expansion and modernization of economic, political and cultural contacts with Europe and the Middle East. The article draws attention to the ideas of Eurasianism, which correlate the movement of national history with the creation of a common civilizational space for all regions of the world, preserving the right of each nation to its own cultural identification. In this regard, the author considers the historiosophical and cultural foundations of classical Eurasianism, which were conceptualized in the works of its founders N.S. Trubetskoy, P.N. Savitsky, G.V. Florovsky, and S.S. Suvchinsky in the period from 1921 to 1927.the Theoretical search for these thinkers and their discussions with opponents on key issues of the Eurasian idea and goals of the Eurasian movement are at the center of the proposed analysis. I.N. Sizemskaya makes an attempt to answer the question as a philosophical-historical concepts of Eurasianism is correlated with today's tasks and national development projects in the country.
