The review of the collection of articles “Russia as a civilization of the future”, published as part of the periodical issue of the scientific almanac “Questions of social theory”, analyzes the materials of the II Interdisciplinary scientific Symposium “Social theory and problems of civilizational development”. In has been held in Ryazan in September 2020. The team of authors, bringing together by a common goal of studying the modern parameters of Russian civilization, focused their efforts on developing a promising methodology for studying Russian civilization, as well as on considering the most important aspects of the current stage of its formation. The book systematizes the civilizational theories of both the classical and modern periods in the development of political philosophy. The methodology of actual and project reconstruction is used to bring Western theories closer to Russian realities and to identify the design possibilities of these exercises in relation to the transformation of Russian society. Various aspects of the current and future state of Russian society and consciousness are analyzed in order to identify the weak and strong sides of its development. Special attention is paid to the problems of the dynamics of Russian identity, the basic values of its civilizational heritage, and the reinterpretation of established models of modernization of Russian management and education.
